Monday, 01 May 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat is popular the people of the country. It has become a social movement and a people’s revolution. Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has given us an opportunity to bring different people doing good work in front of the society.

I heartily congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the completion of 100 episodes of Mann Ki Baat programme.Mann Ki Baat has always encouraged social reform activities like Swacchata Andolan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, water conservation and Vocal for Local. People are also able to express their feelings in front of Prime Minister Modi through this medium. Mann Ki Baat has created a social revolution in the country.

Chouhan listened to the 100th episode of Prime Minister Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme at People’s Mall auditorium in Bhopal with the applicant of Ladli Bahna Yojana and also addressed them after the programme. MLA Krishna Gaur along with Lokendra Parashar, Sumit Pachauri and a large number of women of the area were present.

While motivating the candidates of Ladli Bahna Yojana who came to listen to Mann Ki Baat, the Chief Minister said that the woman was not born to shed tears. The state government is running many programmes and schemes so that sisters and daughters do not remain helpless, they become strong. Sisters should take a pledge that they will not remain poor. The state government is also starting a campaign to form women self-help groups in the cities. In this, bank linkage of women will be ensured and loan will be made available at 2 percent interest to start their business. It is our resolution that every woman should earn at least Rs 10 thousand in a month and live life with self-respect and self-confidence.

Chouhan said that God has made son and daughter equal, but in historical order, it has become the custom of the society to treat women as secondary. People started considering the son as the support of old age and the torchbearer  of the family, while the reality is that only the daughter supports the parents till the last moment and is no less than a son in any situation. Advances in science were also used to prevent the birth of a girl child. In the male-dominated society, the condition of daughters and sisters continued to worsen. To change this scenario full of pain and agony, the state government implemented many schemes including Ladli Laxmi Yojana, various schemes for the education of daughters, Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana. Arrangements like reservation in government service, panchayat and urban elections and special exemption in registration of immovable property in the name of women were made for women empowerment. Women have also diligently performed every responsibility. 45 lakh daughters are associated with Ladli Laxmi Yojana in the state, Ladli Laxmi Day will be celebrated on May 2 in the state.

The Chief Minister said that our government is determined to change the lives of women belonging to poor and lower middle class families. Ladli Behna Yojana will prove effective in making them self-dependent. Under the scheme, Rs 1000 per month will be deposited in the accounts of women to meet their daily needs. In the spirit of fulfilling the bond of Rakhi, arrangements have been made to release funds every month in the Ladli Bahna Yojana, not once in a year but to give something to the sisters every month. More than one crore 20 lakh women have applied in the scheme in the state. Appeal has been made to all the eligible sisters that they must apply in the scheme. After checking the applications in the month of May, the amount will be released in the accounts of the sisters on June 10.
