Oraon pays tribute to Bapu by lighting 1001 lamps

Private Schools and Children Welfare Association (PASWA), on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, paid homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by lighting 1001 lamps in front of his statue at Bapu Vatika in the capital Ranchi this evening.   On this occasion, Finance Minister of Jharkhand Government, Dr Rameshwar Oraon, who was present as the Chief Guest, along with State PASWA Chief, Alok Kumar Dubey.

On the occasion talking to media persons, Dr Rameshwar Oraon said that Gandhiji provided freedom the Country from slavery and he was not only a social reformer but also a Nation builder and an individual reformer. He said that while explaining the meaning of Nationalism, Gandhiji had said that humanity and all-round development is possible only through humanity. Today the whole world is imbibing the path shown by Satyagraha, he added.

Dubey said that the thoughts and ideals of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, who inspired the entire world to follow the path of truth, non-violence and peace and was the pioneer of the Indian freedom struggle, are relevant for us even today. “He led important movements like Quit India Movement, Civil Disobedience Movement, Non-Cooperation Movement and worked to drive away the British by leading the Quit India Movement through Dandi March and Salt Satyagraha.” He added.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Jan Kalyan Parishad paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by organizing a grand tribute ceremony at Gandhi Ashram Sector 2, Dhurwa, while on the other hand, eye check-up camp was organized by Iris Hospital, free health check-up camp was organized by Samford Hospital and health counseling camp was organized by Berlin Hospital. Various types of free tests were conducted on the people.

Finance Minister of Jharkhand Government, Dr Rameshwar Oraon, Special Guest Editor, Harinarayan Singh, former Vice Chancellor, Dr Suresh Prasad Singh, newly elected President of FJCCI, Kishore Minister were present in the tribute ceremony organized under the chairmanship of Mokhtar Singh, a follower of Gandhian ideology.

Senior committee leaders Alok Kumar Dubey, Ajay Singh, Dr Subodh Kumar Singh, Kali Prasad Singh, Bharatiya Welfare Council President, Bhanu Pratap Singh garlanded the statue of Bapu, lit the lamp and paid homage to Bapu.
On this occasion, Dr Rameshwar Oraon honored the women sanitation workers, also distributed books among the children and distributed food.
