The Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) is an initiative of the e-Committee of the Supreme Court. This is an important step towards making the criminal and judicial system speedy and transparent. This is a system on which police, jail, forensic, prosecution and judicial departments are interconnected.
Primarily, ICJS is an integrated portal that connects police, prison, forensic, prosecution and judicial departments into a combined local judicial system, which helps in improving the investigation and action against crimes. The objective of this system is to improve the prevention, investigation and judicial process of crimes, to improve cooperation and functioning between various organizations and departments. Its objective is to provide speedy, transparent judicial action against crimes and better justice to the citizens.
The State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) acts as the nodal agency in the implementation of ICJS in Madhya Pradesh. The SCRB coordinates with the nodal officers of all the pillars to ensure smooth functioning of the ICJS and speedy investigation of crimes.
