Modi to visit Rewa on National Panchayati Raj Day

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state is fortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Rewa on April 24, the National Panchayati Raj Day. This day will be historic for Panchayati Raj institutions and rural development. Panchayat representatives and people’s representatives should join the programme progressively and people should also join the programme virtually. 

Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the ongoing preparations in Rewa for the arrival of Prime Minister Modi and National Panchayat Raj Day. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretaries Malay Srivastava and Mohammad Suleman, Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena and other officers were present in the meeting held at Chief Minister’s residence office building Samatva. Rewa Divisional Commissioner and Collector joined virtually.

It was informed that the main event will take place in the SAF ground located in Rewa. Prime Minister Modi will conduct Griha Pravesh of 4 lakh 11 thousand beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana rural and will lay the foundation stone of works worth Rs 7573 crore 64 lakh of Jal Jeevan Mission. This includes Rewa Bansagar Group Water Supply Scheme, Tamas Group Water Supply Scheme, Satna Bansagar-2 Group Water Supply Scheme, Sidhi Bansagar Group Water Supply Scheme and Gulab Sagar Group Water Supply Scheme.

Dedication of railway projects by Prime Minister Modi is also proposed. In this, along with 100 percent electrification of Madhya Pradesh’s rail network, doubling of Bina-Kota rail section, gauge conversion and electrification of Chhindwara-Nainpur-Mandla Fort rail section besides electrification of Birla Nagar-Udi Mode Fort rail section and Mahoba-Khajuraho-Udaipura rail section. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the re-development works of Indore and Gwalior stations and will flag off three new passenger trains Rewa-Itwari via Chhindwara passenger train, Chhindwara-Nainpur passenger train and Nainpur-Chhindwara train.

Prime Minister Modi will also conduct the national launching of Ekam Inclusive Development website and mobile app under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on National Panchayati Raj Day. E- Gram Swaraj portal and GeM portal will also be launched at national level for purchase of material at panchayat level. An exhibition will be organised related to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Ajeevika Mission, Amrit Sarovar, Home Stay, Health and Wellness Center developed under Rural Tourism in Rewa, Jal Jeevan Mission, Swamitva Yojana, Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Energy Project, Bansagar Project, White Tiger and agriculture.
