A meeting was organized at the Ujjain Smart City office on Tuesday with the HoD of Zoology, Botany, Environmental Management, Computer Science and Economics Department of Vikram University, in which Ujjain Smart City CEO Ashish Pathak to ensure the continued success of city projects, research scholars from Vikram University (VU) were commissioned to conduct socio-economic impact assessments.
The main objective of this effort is to carefully analyze the ongoing smart city initiatives, identify potential weak points and make recommendations for future improvements. This collaborative effort aims to contribute to the sustainable development and growth of smart urban centers. Vikram University, in partnership with Ujjain Smart City Limited (USCL), also discussed to organize an important water conclave.
The CEO has recommended an ambitious research project focused on the Saptasagars, the seven major water bodies of Hindu cosmology. The proposed research involves a nuanced exploration of their cultural significance, historical relevance, geographical locations and ecological characteristics. It aims to develop an in-depth understanding of their cultural and ecological contexts, thereby enabling informed conservation efforts for these important resources. Department of Botany, Vikram University also presented their suggestions on starting a pioneering initiative of using floating aquatic plants for waste water purification.
