A 42-year-old villager was killed by Maoists on suspicion of being a police spy in Gariaband district in Chhattisgarh, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place in Kharipathra village on Saturday night and the deceased was Ramdev Otti, Amalipadar Station House Officer Chandan Singh Markam told The Pioneer.
A group of Maoists dragged the victim from his house and strangled him to death.
The Naxalites left behind pamphlets claiming responsibility for the murder.
