A Maoist has surrendered to security forces in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Wednesday.
Pandu Podiyami (35) on Tuesday turned himself in, citing disappointment with the Maoist ideology, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said.
He was the Marjum Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangh member of the outlawed Maoist group.
So far, 631 Naxalites, 161 of them carrying cash rewards, have given up violence in Dantewada.
