Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) commenced its academic year 2023-24 with great enthusiasm during the grand inauguration event, known as MEDORIENT 2023-24, held on September 1, 2023. Dr. Pradeep Kumar G, the esteemed Dean of MTMC, delivered a warm welcome address to the incoming MBBS students and their proud parents. This annual tradition at MTMC aims to ease the transition into medical education and instill the core values of the college.

The event began with a floral tribute to Dr. TMA Pai, the founding father of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, followed by a symbolic lamp lighting ceremony. Dr. Pradeep Kumar G emphasized the pivotal role of MTMC in shaping the future of healthcare, urging students to not only excel as doctors but also be compassionate caregivers, making a positive impact on society.

MEDORIENT provided new students with a comprehensive overview of the MBBS curriculum, introduced them to the faculty members, and highlighted the campus support services. This program aimed to help students adapt to the academic demands of medical school and foster a sense of belonging within the MTMC community.

The event culminated with the White Coat Ceremony, where the Dean, Associate Deans, and Faculty members assisted students in donning their white coats, symbolizing the start of their journey as medical professionals. The students also took an oath, known as "Charaka Shapath," reaffirming their commitment to the principles of medical ethics and patient care.
