A joint team of Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) and Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested Sushil Kumar, an alleged associate of Canada-based listed Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla, from Manglaur in Haridwar district. He used to supply weapons to the sharpshooters of Dalla’s gang. He was using Dalla to extort money from people in Haridwar too, said the senior superintendent of police of STF, Ayush Agrawal. He said that the STF was making efforts to arrest aides of Arsh Dalla in Haridwar on charges of extortion and threatening under Section 387, 506 of the Indian Penal Code. A joint team of STF and the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested Sushil Kumar from Manglaur’s Tikola village late on Monday. Agrawal said that Arsh Dalla was declared a terrorist by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) last year and currently lives in Canada. He is accused of terrorist funding in Punjab, smuggling arms from across the border and carrying out several target killings. In September 2023, Sukhwinder Gill alias Sukhi Duneki, a close aide of Dalla, was murdered in Canada and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility. However, Dalla suspected that Punjabi singer Eli Mangat, had helped the gang in the said murder and allegedly wanted to get him murdered through his shooter Rajpreet. He said that the Special Cell of Delhi police is investigating the case. They recently arrested a shooter Rajpreet Singh alias Raja Bam, the main shooter of Dallas’s gang along with four other members on November 26 and Kumar’s name came to light during their interrogation.  He allegedly used to supply weapons to Dalla’s shooters. The SSP said that Kumar had also allegedly used his connection with Dalla to threaten people in Haridwar and extort money from them. He claimed that Kumar was also in touch with Dalla via Signal app. The authorities recovered a huge quantity of weapons and cartridges from Kumar’s house who is being interrogated by the police, said Agrawal.
