A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Jharkhand Police and State Bank of India (SBI) for a police salary package on Monday. Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP), Ajay Kumar Singh presided over the programme at Jharkhand Police Headquarters.
According to this MoU, Rs 50 lakhs on accidental death of police personnel from police salary package, Rs 50 lakhs on permanent total disability, Rs 30 lakhs on permanent-partial disability, Rs 1 crore on air accident, will be given to dependent children on death in personal accident. There is a provision to give an insurance amount of Rs 10 lakhs for higher education and a maximum of Rs 10 lakhs for the marriage of unmarried girls. An additional provision of Rs 10 lakh has been made for the dependents of the martyrs in Naxal violence, ambush attacks by militants and criminals.
Under this MoU, Rupay Platinum Card will be made available to all police personnel on behalf of SBI Bank. Under this, an additional insurance cover of Rs 10 lakh will be available in case of death in an accident. All these insurance facilities will be made available free of cost to the account holder under the Police Salary Package by SBI.
On the occasion, ADG (Hqrs) ML Meena, ADG (Operations) Dr Sanjay Anand Rao Lathkar, IG (Hqrs) Manoj Kaushik, IG (Campaign) AV Homkar, IG (Human Rights) Akhilesh Jha, IG (Provision) Prabhat Kumar, IG (Personnel) A Vijaylakshmi, IG (Budget) Dr Shams Tabrej along with members of police associations and SBI officials were present.
Meanwhile, five DySPs waiting for posting have got postings. Of these, four DSPs have been posted in ATS and one DSP in Jharkhand Jaguar. A notification related to this has been issued by the Police Headquarters. Pradeep Kumar, Rohit Ranjan Singh, Suresh Prasad Yadav and Rohit Kumar Rajwar have been posted in Jharkhand ATS whereas Dhananjay Kumar Ram has been posted in Jharkhand Jaguar.
