Janata Dal (United) leaders from Uttar Pradesh have urged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Phulpur parliamentary seat of UP.
A delegation of JD (U) from UP went to Patna to meet Nitish Kumar and requested him to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Phulpur constituency.
The delegation, led by Uttar Pradesh convener of JD (U), Satyendra Patel, comprised around 75 party leaders and workers from 10 Lok Sabha constituencies of UP. All of them also raised slogans demanding Nitish as the prime ministerial candidate of INDIA bloc.
“We are fully prepared to contest about two dozen Lok Sabha seats in UP. Our readiness is up to the booth level. We demanded that our leader Nitish Kumar contest from the Phulpur constituency and wipe out the Bharatiya Janata Party from our state and the country,” Patel said here on Sunday.
“Phulpur is the constituency of prime ministers. Nitish should contest from there. The entire country has high expectations from him. We are just waiting for his nod. He will win from any constituency he contests. UP gave 10 prime ministers, but its condition is still pitiable,” Patel added.
