In view of the Assembly elections, the Excise Department, under the instructions of Collector Ilaiah Raja T and under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner Excise Manish Khare, is continuously taking strict action against illegal liquor smugglers and those who sell and collect liquor illegally.

In this series, in the action taken in all the circles of the district on a total of 59 cases were registered under various sections of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act by raiding a total of 59 places. In these cases, 811 liters of illicit liquor and 1605 liters of Mahua Lahan along with one two-wheeler were seized. The total value of all the seized material is Rs 4,40,057/-.

The first raid was conducted in village Bhatkhedi by Sub Inspector Sunil Malviya of circle Mhow. When they reached near the under construction railway line, a person was seen running from there. The staff got down from the car and chased him. He ran away taking advantage of the darkness and was stopped. But after coming and conducting a proper search , 500 quarter units of country liquor hidden in a pit was recovered, which was duly seized and a case was registered against the absconding accused under Section 34(1), 34(2) of the Excise Act.

In the second raid, Sub-Inspector of Circle Bombay Market, Priyanka Sharma, seized 250  quarter unit of country liquor from the shop of Mugi's father Chhagan Lal in village Khudail, arrested him and registered a case against him under Section 34(1) of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act.

In raid 3 Sub-Inspector of Circle Internal Number 2, Shalini Singh arrested Vipul Rawat father Balmukund Rawat from Jawahar Tekri Dhar Road while transporting two boxes of country made liquor in a two-wheeler Activa, seized the liquor and the vehicle and Madhya Pradesh Excise Act against the accused. Registered a case under section 34(1) of IPC.

In raid 4 Sub-inspectors Mahesh Patel and Manohar Khare of Circle A and B, while conducting night patrolling, arrested the accused Shubham, father of Shankarlal, resident of Somnath chawl and Amit Singh son of Ramraj singh from the residential house located at Somnath ki chawl and the grocery shop located near Pardeshipura petrol pump respectively, Excise Officers seized 174 quarter units of country liquor masala and 176 quarter units of country liquor plane from the possession of accused and the Case was  registered under section 34(1) of IPC.
