Milk Processing Plant to be set up in Himachal in collaboration with NDDB, says CM

Shimla: The Himachal government will set up a state-of-the-art milk processing plant at a cost of Rs 250 crore at Dagwar in Kangra district, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said. Presiding over a meeting here, Sukhu said that the milk processing plant would be set up in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and assistance of NDDB would be taken in its operation to marketing. He said that the capacity of the Dagwar plant would range from one lakh litres to three lakh litres, in which high quality products of milk would also be prepared. Further, he said that the Congress party in its 'Pratigyapatra' had promised to buy cow's milk at Rs 80 per litre and buffalo's milk at Rs 100 per litre from the dairy farmers and the state government is moving towards fulfilling the same promise.
Sukhu said the establishment of the plant at Dagwar would benefit the farmers of Kangra, Hamirpur, Una and Chamba districts, and NDDB shall conduct a survey for the milk collection system in these areas.

Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate major road projects worth about Rs 3,700 crores in Sonipat today

Chandigarh: Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate 11 flyovers on the eight-lane National Highway from Delhi to Panipat in Sonipat on Tuesday, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said on Monday. He said that the project is 24 km long with an estimated cost of around Rs 900 crores. Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for the construction work of Karnal Green Field Six-Lane Ring Road project at village Kutail in Karnal district. The total length of this project is 35 km and it will cost about Rs. 1,700 crores. Similarly, he will lay the foundation stone of the construction work of Ambala Green Field Six Lane Ring Road project at village Jandli in Ambala district. The total length of this project is 23 km with an estimated cost of around Rs. 1,100 crores.

Air travel to be started from Hisar Airport soon: Minister

Chandigarh: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Monday said that "Gurugram-Heliport" is an ambitious project of the state government, which will be started soon. Under the Central Government's "Udan" scheme, air travel will be started from Hisar Airport to various major cities of the country. Chautala who holds the portfolio of Civil Aviation Department presided over a meeting of senior officers of Civil Aviation Department and State Government and discussed various sites suggested by the officers related to Gurugram-Heliport and directed to prepare its final report at the earliest. Referring to the routes to be started from Hisar Airport under the UDAN scheme, he said that explore the possibilities of starting air flights from Hisar to Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Jaipur, Amritsar, Kullu, Jammu and other cities.

Online registration for job seekers in Himachal


Shimla:  Job seekers in Himachal Pradesh will no longer be required to visit employment exchanges in person to get themselves registered as the state government has come up with a new online registration system, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Monday.  The Department of Labour and Employment has developed a new software known as eEMIS (Employment Exchange Management Information System) which is fully operational and enables applicants to register online without any financial implications, Sukhu said. “The practice of physically visiting employment exchanges for over 50 years is now being replaced with a more convenient online registration system,” he said in a statement. Any person can register online or through Lok Mitra Kendra without physically visiting the employment exchange. The person can register and upload all the requisite documents online and would also be able to download the proof of registration online. Previously, even after registering online, individuals were required to visit the employment exchanges along with their original documents. However, the state government has recognized the potential of technology in simplifying the process and has taken steps to incorporate the same.

Hry to organise State level programme of Int’l Yoga Day in Panipat

Chandigarh:  Haryana Home, Health and AYUSH Minister Anil Vij on Monday said that the state-level programme of International Yoga Day will be organised in Panipat while district-level programmes will be held in 21 districts and block-level programmes organised in 121 blocks. The theme of this year is "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" and the tagline is "Har Ghar-Aangan Yoga".  Vij was presiding over the meeting of all the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the State to review the arrangements of International Yoga Day programmes through video conferencing here.  He said that this time the tagline of Yoga Day is “Har Ghar Aangan Yoga”, according to which the state government is also setting up yogashalas in the state. Till now about 600 Yogashalas have been established. He said that about 900 Yoga Assistants have been appointed so far.

15 special students of GRIID get campus placement

Chandigarh: A total of 15 students of the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID), Chandigarh got campus placement in a multinational company on Monday. GRIID is a premier institute in North India, which is providing comprehensive health and educational facilities to more than 450 special children with intellectual disability, autism, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities. In a statement, an official said that with the coordinated efforts of Anisha, Special Educator (DMR/DVTE-MR) and Gurpreet Kaur, HR Head, 15 Special Students of GRIID Chandigarh, got a placement with Swaraj Engines Limited, Mohali.  This is the first time that such a big number of students got Industrial placement. Presently they are undergoing an on-the-job training programme for 21 days. Initially, they shall be paid Rs 8,800 per month in hand with benefits like food with intermediate snacks, transportation, uniform, safety shoes, caps etc. along with benefits of EPF, ESI and Medical Insurance coverage.
