2 FOOTBALLERS KILLED IN ROAD MISHAP AT UMARKOTE
Nabarangpur: Two persons were killed in Umarkote town in Nabarangpur district on Thursday night when their motorbike was hit by a truck. The truck dragged the motorbike along with its riders for over 200 metres. Both persons died on the spot. The deceased were identified as two footballers, Mahesh Gand and Ajay Suna.
YOUTH ELECTROCUTED AT GANESH PANDAL
Paralakhemundi: One J Khahesh (28) was electrocuted at a Ganesh pandal in Totagumuda village under the Gurandi police station in Ganjam district. The deceased came in contact with a live electric wire.
and became unconscious. He as immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead. Later, a team led by Gurandi police station IIC Rabindra Panda reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
GRS HELD TAKING BRIBE IN ANGUL
Cuttack: The Vigilance police on Friday caught Jadumani Majhi, GRS, Machakata GP under Chhendipada block in Angul district, while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000. Majhi had demanded the bribe from a PMAY beneficiary for online geo tagging of his completed Pradhan MantriAwaas and release of final house completion bill as well as to facilitate bonus in his favour for completion of house under MGNREG scheme within stipulated time. Later, Majhi was arrested and forwarded to court.
