The Indian Chamber of Commerce, Odisha State Council in collaboration with the State Department of Steel and Mines organised the 2nd India Mining Conclave here on Wednesday.
The event brought together industry stalwarts, Government officials and experts to discuss key issues and opportunities in the mining sector.
Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal graced the occasion as chief guest.
Setting the tone at the inaugural session, Chairman, ICC Odisha State Council JB Pany said, "Mining sector plays a pivotal role in driving industrial growth and employment opportunities. As we gather here today, we acknowledge the immense potential and responsibility that rests upon us to foster sustainable development in this sector.”
Addressing the delegates, Executive-In-Charge (FAMD), Tata Steel and Convener, Minerals & Metal Committee, ICC Odisha State Council Pankaj Satija said, "To achieve the goals of ESG, we need to have a robust policy framework which should facilitate and strengthen the competence of our people to follow those guidelines and ensure it with professional excellence. Technology, digital intervention, Al and skilling will be the key enablers.”
Corporate leaders from renowned companies such as Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), Vedanta Zinc Business, JSW Steel Limited, and AMNS shared their insights during this session.
