Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Friday said that the State Government will host the fourth meeting of the G-20 Sherpa Group at Nuh from September 3 to 7.

Kaushal presided over a meeting to review the arrangements with Additional Chief Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Health, Director General, Information, Public Relations, Language, and Culture, Engineer in Chief, PWD and Director General of Foreign Cooperation, Special Secretary of the Human Resources Department, Director General of Police and Deputy Commissioners, Gurugram and Nuh districts and other senior officers.

The Chief Secretary emphasized the magnitude of this event as a matter of immense national pride and underscored the importance of meticulous planning and attention to detail. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the G20 has been organizing meetings on various subjects across the country. Gurugram has already successfully hosted three prior meetings of the G20's Anti-Corruption Working Group, Startup 20, and discussions on crime and security related to NFT, AI, and Metaverse, showcasing its capability to host significant gatherings.

Kaushal stressed the need to enhance beautification efforts, aiming to leave a lasting and positive impression on foreign delegates. This approach effectively highlights the unique characteristics of Gurugram and Nuh districts, and Haryana.

Dr Amit Agrawal, Director General of the Information, Public Relations, Language, and Culture Department, informed that cultural programs are scheduled for the second day of the meeting, specifically on September 4. These programs are thoughtfully curated to introduce foreign delegates to the rich tapestry of Haryanvi art and culture.

Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram Nishant Kumar Yadav, presented a progress report outlining ongoing efforts to prepare the venue for the fourth Sherpa meeting. The presentation highlighted substantial repair and enhancement activities along the main roads from the Delhi border to the event site, with projected completion within the next week. To extend warm hospitality to foreign guests, Liaison Officers comprising HCS and Trainee IAS officers will be appointed to facilitate their seamless participation.
