The full dress and final rehearsal of the Police Memorial Day Parade was held on Thursday morning at the Martyr Memorial Complex located at the Lal Parade Ground.
Every year, Police Memorial Day is organized on October 21, at 8 am in the Martyr Memorial Complex located at Lal Parade Ground.
Additional Director General of Police SAF Farid Shapu inspected the full dress rehearsal parade. Also took stock of other arrangements for Police Memorial Day.
Head constable Ramchandra Kushwaha played the role of chief guest during the full dress rehearsal for Police Memorial Day on Thursday.
The final practice parade was led by Indian Police Service officer Shiyaz K M. The 2IC of the parade is Assistant Commandant Naveen Tiwari of the State Police Service. The parade includes contingents of Women Platoon of District Force, Men Platoon of Special Armed Forces, Men Platoon of District Police Force, Home Guard Platoon, Pallbearer, Color Party, Police Band Platoon, Equestrian Team and Dog Team.
At the time of full dress rehearsal, Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra, Deputy Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police Navneet Bhasin, Amit Singh, Commandant Seventh Corps Atul Singh and other senior police officers were present. During this, tribute was paid to the martyrs by offering floral tributes amidst the melodious tunes of patriotic songs being played by the police band. Initially, the honor roll was installed in the memorial fund by the pall-bearer party and the salute was given at the Martyr's Memorial.
On October 21, 1959, a contingent of CRPF soldiers, under the leadership of Sub Inspector Karam Singh, was patrolling at an altitude of 16 thousand feet in the Hot Springs of Ladakh when 10 soldiers were martyred in an encounter with the Chinese army. This day is remembered in memory by all the police units of the country. This year, 17 soldiers of Madhya Pradesh Police have sacrificed their lives for the country.
