Express Cargo Service was inaugurated at Ranchi railway station in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Gupta and Chief Post Master General Rakesh Kumar on Tuesday. Under the Central Government's Gati Shakti Yojana, the Indian Railways and the Indian Postal Department have jointly started the Joint Parcel Product (JPP) scheme.
Under the express cargo service, the postal department will collect the parcel from the house, shop or address of the businessmen and common man and deliver it to the station, after that it will be taken by the train to the destination station/city by the railways, from where the postal department again The parcel will be delivered by to his booked address. With this, businessmen and common people will get the facility of sending door to door parcels.
Today, the first parcel under express cargo service was sent to Patna in train number 12366 Ranchi-Patna Janshatabdi Express operated from Ranchi Railway Division. At present, train number 12366 Ranchi-Patna Janshatabdi Express from Ranchi to Patna and train number 12817 Hatia-Anandvihar Terminal Express from Ranchi to Delhi have the facility of express cargo service.
Under Express Cargo Service, businessmen and common people can book parcels for various destinations by contacting the Department of Posts or can get information related to the booking of parcels.
On this occasion, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager cum Chief Public Relations Officer Nishant Kumar, Assistant Director Niranjan Kumar, Assistant Superintendent Shantanu Azad and other officers and employees of Ranchi Railway Division and Postal Department were present on behalf of the Department of Posts.
