A youth killed his parents with a shovel in village Sagarpatti Pandhila in Haringtonganj police post under Inayat Nagar police station of Ayodhya district late on Wednesday night.
There was a dispute between the son and the daughter-in-law when the youth reached home late on Wednesday night to celebrate Karva Chauth.
Reports said that Balendra Tiwari, resident of village Sagar Patti Pandila, reached his home late on Wednesday night. His wife had kept the Karva Chauth fast. When Balendra reached home his wife had already performed Karva Chauth pooja, and this enraged him and he started beating his wife.
Seeing the fight between the daughter-in-law and the son, Balendra’s father Rajmarg Tiwari and mother Saroj Devi intervened. After this, Balendra started venting his anger on his parents. However, after some time Balendra calmed down and went away.
After this, the parents went to rest on the cot in the verandah outside the house. About an hour later, at 11:15 pm, Balendra reached home and killed his parents with a shovel.
At the time of the incident, the deceased’s younger son Pravesh and his wife were present in the house.
A case was registered in this regard and the police launched a hunt for Balendra.
Meanwhile, in Maharajganj district, it has come to light that middle-aged Sukkhal of Dharni Patti under Hanumanganj police station of Kushinagar district, was murdered by his own elder son Shri Ram and his body was thrown into the pond in Badhara Chargha village.
Seeing an abandoned scooter at the roadside, passersby informed the police. After this the police reached the spot along with Superintendent of Police Dr Kaustubh. Sukkhal was having a dispute with his elder son Shri Ram. Recently Sukkhal had registered some land in the name of his younger daughter-in-law Sandhya leading to a dispute in the family.
On Tuesday night, Sukkhal had come to Sandhya’s maternal house in Pakdiyhawan area of Badhara Chargahan village.
According to Sandhya, her father-in-law had left for Kushinagar on scooty on Wednesday morning. In the afternoon, his scooter was found lying near Ramaita Ghat pond outside Badhara Chargha village. After seeing the scooter, people informed the police and identified the victim as Sukkhal.
Dr Kaustubh said that a case of murder has been registered against Shri Ram and a hunt was on to arrest him.
