Amid a cluster of mysterious pneumonia cases in China, Chhattisgarh has called for increased surveillance as well as stepped up hygiene as a precaution.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday called for closely monitoring the reported outbreak of H9N2 cases and clusters of respiratory illness among children.
Baghel in a tweet raised concern over a major pneumonia outbreak.
“Though there is less possibility of the pandemic spreading in Chhattisgarh, the state officials have been asked to be prepared to combat the possible threat," he said.
The Chief Minister said that followed by an advisory from the Centre, the Chief Medical and Health Officers across the state have been asked to maintain proper precaution.
“The officials have been asked to enhance human resources, availability of beds, testing facility and infection control practice," the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister also instructed the health officials for complete preparedness for any exigencies that may emerge from the current influenza situation.
