ACADEMIC SESSION IN STATE FROM APRIL 3
Bhubaneswar: In view of the summer season, the Odisha Government has announced that classes for students of Classes-I to XII in schools and higher secondary schools will be held from 7 am to 11.30 am from April 11. The district Collectors have been asked to change the timings as per the heat wave situation in their districts. The school authorities have been directed to make arrangement of clean drinking water and other necessary facilities. The Government has also decided that the academic session for the year 2023-24 will commence from April 3.

NEW CIVIL COURT BUILDING IN BALANGIR DEMANDED 
Balangir: Newly-elected president of Bolangir Bar Association Amaresh Tripathy has demanded early construction of the proposed new civil court building in Balangir. Speaking to the media, he said, “We would submit a memorandum to the district Collector demanding early construction of the new civil court building  at Larkipali Mouza, for which fund has  been allocated.”

BANDITA AWARDED DOCTORATE 
Paradip: Highly-educated, philanthropist Bandita Subhadarsini from Paradip region has received an honorary doctorate from the Magic Book of Records. She is the wife of trade union leader Rakesh Kumar Pattnaik. Her dream is to practise law to give justice to the poor section of the society.

UTKAL DIVAS CELEBRATED AT JODA  
Keonjhar: The Utkal Divas was celebrated in Joda with pomp and grandeur. According to Joda Utkal Divas Samaroha Committee secretary Benudhar Behera, early in the morning a troupe went in a rally through the town singing “Bande Utkal Janani”. The statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, revolutionary son of erstwhile Keonjhar state Dharanidhar Naik and other great sons of Odisha were garlanded. The programme was led by Joda Municipality Chairman Dr Jagdish Prasad Sahoo. 

PHULBANI LAWYERS CELEBRATE UTKAL DIVAS  
Phulbani: Under the leadership of Phulbani Bar Association president Bhagaban Mohanty and secretary Kamal Behera, the association members celebrated the Utkal Divas here. Garlandingthe statue of Madhubabu, the president said, “We should feel proud as Odia and love our mother tongue. Vice-president Binapani Pradhan, joint secretary Ranjan Das and treasurer KC Senapati and other members were present.

POLICE FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATED AT CHHATRAPUR 
Chhatrapur: The Ganjam police celebrated the 88th Odisha Police Foundation Day here on Saturday. Ganjam SP Jagmohan Meena received salute from police platoons. Reserve Police Inspector Amulya Behera coordinated the parade. Service medals were given to several police personnel including Aska PS SI Biswajit Nayak, Purushottam PS ASI Sidheswar Ranveer and Chhatrapur HQ Havildar Susanta Pradhan.

DRINKING WATER SUPPLY BY OPGC COMMENCES  
Jharsuguda: The OPGC on Saturday commenced summer season drinking water supply through tankers to 70 periphery villages of the Ib Thermal Power Station coming under eight gram panchayats of Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda district. The facility will continue till end of June. 

OP JINDAL REMEMBERED ON DEATH ANNIVERSARY  
Paradip: The JSW family and people from the periphery villages paid their homage to founder of Jindal Group Om Prakash Jindal on his 19th death anniversary here. A memorial service was conducted at the Jatadhar Bhawan. Food was distributed at the Santoshi Jorashrama and Bijaychandrapur.

NTPC DARLIPALI BAGS KALINGA CSR AWARD  
Sundargarh: The NTPC Darlipali in Sundargarh district has been conferred with the Kalinga CSR Award 2022 for its remarkable contribution in community development activities. The award was received by NTPC Darlipali CGM Ajai Kumar Tandon from chief guest’ Minister, Forest, Environmentand Climate Change Department Pradip Kumar Amat.
