BJP State General Secretary Pradeep Verma today attacked Congress at BJP state headquarters saying that there is a corrupt government in Chhattisgarh and the Mahadev betting app scandal that took place during the Bhupesh Baghel government has establish the fact. BJP has been saying from the beginning that the Mahadev betting app scandal had the patronage and support of the Baghel government. This was the reason why it has not been investigated till date.

Verma said that ED's investigation has revealed that betting was the side business of Congress's Baghel government. Bhupesh Baghel has put the development of Chhattisgarh on stake. ED investigation revealed that the promoters of the betting app have so far paid Rs 508 crore to Bhupesh Baghel. ED has detained Aseem Das, a cash courier specially sent from UAE for delivering huge amount of cash for the election expenses of the Congress Party.
ED recovered cash amounting to Rs 5.39 crore from the car and residence of Aseem Das. Aseem Das, arrested in this regard, admitted that the seized amount was used by the promoters of Mahadev App for the expenses of the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh. The promoters of this betting syndicate are sitting abroad. With the help of their friends and associates, they are running thousands of panels across India. They are especially from Chhattisgarh and they have earned thousands of crores of rupees from this.

ED had already said that the money collected through Mahadev App was distributed as bribe among politicians and bureaucrats in Chhattisgarh. In the context of Jharkhand, Verma said that in Jharkhand too, corruption cases worth thousands of crores of the ruling coalition in which Congress is also a partner have been exposed in the ED action.
