Eyeing upcoming assembly polls in five states, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will regularise temporary employees wherever it comes to power.
“The AAP government in Delhi has regularized 5,000 sanitation workers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). These workers had been demanding job security for a long time, but the BJP government, which ruled for 15 years, never took their demands seriously,” Kejriwal said at a press conference here.
“We have fulfilled our promise by making the sanitation workers permanent. So far, we have made 6494 sanitation workers permanent,” he said, adding that in Punjab too, its Government has regularized around 30,000 non-permanent employees.
“Wherever we get a chance to come to power, we will regularise temporary employees," he said. AAP MLAs Kuldeep Kumar (Kondli), Rohit Mehroliya (Trilokpuri) and Ajay Dutt (Ambedkar Nagar) too joined their party Supremo in patting their back saying says that sanitation workers demand for regularisation has been fulfilled while the BJP has been misleading and exploiting them.
AAP's senior leader and MLA from Kondli, Kuldeep Kumar, along with Trilokpuri MLA Rohit Mehrolia and Ambedkar Nagar MLA Ajay Dutt, jointly addressed an important press conference at the party headquarters on Wednesday.
Dutt said that the AAP's government in the MCD has been in power for a few months but have already taken initiative to make at least 6,494 sanitation workers permanent.
