The second National Coal Development Corporation (NCDC) Foundation Day’ was celebrated with pomp at Central Coalfield Limited (CCL) Headquarters, Ranchi  on Wednesday. NCDC was established on October 01, 1956. Former chairmen, Directors, Senior Officers and Employees of Coal India Limited (CIL) and its other subsidiaries, participated in the event.

Chairman of CIL, PM Prasad welcomed the distinguished guests and addressed all present at the function. He said that NCDC has provided a strong foundation to Coal India. He further said that due to the guidance, experience and legacy of all the mentors and elders, the company has been able to successfully meet the energy needs of the country. He said that Coal India and its subsidiaries will do even better in the times to come and achieve the coal production target of 1 billion tonnes by 2025-26.

Former President Dr MP Narayanan, NC Jha, Former CMD, ECL, SN Singh, former CMD, WCL, RD Rai, Former CMD CCL and CMPDIL, S Verma, former CMD CCL, B Akala, Former CMD CCL, RP Ritolia, Former Chairman and former CMD BCCL, Partho Bhattacharya, Former Chairman and former CMD CCL and BCCL, Gopal Singh, former CMD MCL, Abhiram Sharma, former CMD NCL, i Tapas Kumar Nag, former CMD CCL, Ranjan Kumar Saha, CMD CMPDI, Manoj Kumar and former employees working in NCDC were present. They enhanced the dignity of this function and shared their experiences about the glorious history of NCDC and CCL till now. Senior member of JCSC and former employee of NCDC, Ramendra Kumar was also present in the program.

CIL Chairman, Prasad and CMD CCL, Dr B Veera Reddy for organizing this event and also thanked for the special honor given to them by CCL.

On the special occasion, Reddy along with Director (Personnel), Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra, Director (Y&P), B Sairam and Chief Vigilance Officer, Pankaj Kumar, all Welcomed the guests with shawl and bunch of flowers.

Reddy in his welcome address discussed the history of the coal industry highlighting the past of NCDC. While welcoming the guests, he expressed his gratitude to the elders of NCDC for participating in the programme.

Students of DAV Gandhinagar School presented a welcome song in honor of the guests. To make the program entertaining, a pleasing Kathak dance was presented by Gargi Malkani and her team, which was highly appreciated by all present. A short film dedicated to NCDC was also screened on the occasion.

The vote of thanks was given by Director (Yo.P.), B Sairam while the stage was moderated by Priyaranjan, Nisha and Shweta Hansda.
