East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC), Vijaya Jadhav, spearheaded a successful 'Janata Darbar' on Monday, providing an opportunity for local residents to voice their grievances and seek redressal. The event witnessed a significant turnout as a large number of concerned citizens from Govindpur and nearby areas gathered to express their concerns and seek resolution for their issues.
The 'Janata Darbar' initiative, organised by the office of the Deputy Commissioner, aims to bridge the gap between the administration and the public by providing a platform for direct interaction. It enables citizens to personally engage with government officials, including the DC, and present their grievances, thereby facilitating the timely and effective resolution of their problems.
People’s grievances were mostly related to poor road and drainage conditions, drinking water problems and law and order problems, while matters related to encroachment of rayati land remained a dominant factor.
Residents hailing from areas like Govindpur, Parsudih, Sundernagar and Bagbera reached the Janata Darbar. One of the complainants apprised the DC as to how an influential personal grabbed his several acres of land at Bagbera on the pretext of setting up a technical training institute.
“ Though my father had given the land on rent for setting up a technical training institute over a decade ago. But the man is neither making a payment towards the rent nor vacating the land. Some other residents have sold out my rayati land fraudulently, ” a resident of Khasmahal in Parsudih said.
The DC, Vijaya Jadhav listened attentively to each and every complainant and instructed her subordinates to ensure the complaints were resolved logically.
Among others who were in the ‘Janata Darbar’ include Jila Parishad Chairperson, Bari Murmu and Circle Officer, Jamshedpur Block, Amit Srivastava.
With an overwhelming response from the local community, the event held in Govindpur proved to be an important avenue for residents to voice their concerns. A diverse range of issues was brought forth, including infrastructural development, healthcare services, sanitation, water supply, education, and law and order.
Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, along with a team of officials from different departments, patiently listened to the grievances and took detailed notes to ensure that each concern was duly addressed. She displayed exceptional commitment and dedication in her interactions with the residents, reassuring them of the administration's willingness to address their problems and find suitable solutions.
During the 'Janata Darbar,' the Deputy Commissioner also emphasized the importance of community participation in the development process. She encouraged the residents to actively engage with local authorities and contribute to the overall progress of the region. Additionally, she highlighted the significance of transparency and accountability in governance, ensuring that the administration remains accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.
Jadhav assured the attendees that their concerns would be thoroughly examined, and appropriate measures would be taken to address them. She also reiterated the administration's dedication to ensuring prompt action and emphasized that continuous efforts would be made to improve governance and enhance the quality of public services.
