‘Veer Bal Diwas’ was celebrated on 26th December in the government schools of the state to pay tribute to the bravery of Sahibzada Jorwar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, the children of the 10th Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh. During this period, creative competitions like poetry, painting, slogan making were organized in schools. Children were also told stories of bravery of Sahibzada Jorwar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.
School children also listened carefully to the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the program organized on the occasion of 'Veer Bal Diwas' at Bharat Mandapam in the capital Delhi on YouTube. As per the instructions of the Department of School Education and Literacy, classes from class 10th to 12th have been conducted in schools as per the requirement, keeping in mind the secondary and higher secondary board examinations.
In view of Veer Bal Diwas, children of these classes participated in offline competitions. Whereas children from primary classes to class 9 took part in interesting online competitions and paid tribute to the bravery of 'Chhote Sahibzade' on My Gov of Government of India and in My Bharat portal, school children of the state participated in online interactive quiz related to 'Veer Bal Diwas' 2023. During this, children solved the quiz questions using their knowledge. Children who successfully complete the online quiz competition will be awarded the My Gov. Award of the Government of India. Certificate of Participation was also given by the portal.
