A state-level seminar was organized on Sunday at the Judicial Academy, Jharkhand, located in Dhurwa, regarding speedy and quality execution of cybercrimes. Senior judicial officers of the state, senior police officers and public prosecutors, assistant public prosecutors participated in this conference. Chief Guest of the conference, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad of Jharkhand High Court inaugurated the seminar.
On the occasion, he stressed on increasing the conviction rate through the use of technological innovations. He said that for this work the investigators of the case will have to be technically proficient. Only then will the conviction rate in the case increase. Along with this, he asked the IOs to think two steps ahead of cyber criminals. He said that in the context of cyber law of the changing times, he also mentioned the use of Section 65B of the Indian Evidence Act.
The Director of Jharkhand Judicial Academy, while giving details of the challenges related to cybercrime, suggested judicial officers, lawyers and police department to work together in this direction. Along with this, the difficulties faced in catching cyber criminals were mentioned. ACP Cyber Crime-Net Department, New Delhi, Jitendra Singh was present as a guest professor in the first technical session. He threw light on the present Indian law and electronic evidence for cybercrimes and their prevention.
Along with this, he praised the effort of Judicial Academy Jharkhand, where all its shareholders are present. In the second session, Antara Jha, Senior Executive Legal, CDAC, Patna, highlighted the importance of spreading awareness regarding prevention of cybercrime. Judicial officers of the state, lawyers, law students, concerned senior police officers and others were present in the seminar.
