Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi, Rahul Kumar, a meeting was organized with various puja pandal committees regarding Durga Puja today. Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi Chandan Kumar Sinha, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar Deepak Dubey, Sub-Divisional Officer Bundu Ajay Kumar Sao, City SP, Additional District Magistrate, Ranchi Rajeshwar Nath , concerned police-administration, city administration officials, circle officers and members of various Durga Puja committees were present.
In the meeting, important suggestions were given by various puja pandal committee members regarding concluding the puja in a peaceful atmosphere and better arrangements. The members of the committee took turns in arranging CCTV, cleanliness, water supply, ban on sale of illicit liquor, uninterrupted power supply, deputation of women constables, arrangement of transport for the devotees coming from rural areas, especially women devotees, and immersion. During the meeting, suggestions were given regarding lighting arrangements etc.
Sinha said that every effort will be made to provide all the facilities provided by the district administration to the committees. He said that the district administration is committed to providing better arrangements. All concerned officials will contribute with full capacity during the puja.
Praising the participation of peace committee, puja committee and general public in big festivals, the DC said that we have completed the festivals with the cooperation of everyone in a cordial and brotherly atmosphere, we are waiting for the day when our need arises. All sections and sects of the society should mature at such a level that we can conduct all the festivals in a non-controversial manner without the help of police and administration. The DC also praised the participation of youth in the Peace Committee and Puja Committee.
During the meeting, SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha told the puja committees to perform the puja in such a way that the feeling of worship is aroused and not of demonstration. He said that it is said that policemen are not able to do puja, you should perform your duty as if you are worshiping the mother.
The Senior Superintendent of Police talked about necessary improvements to ensure that the devotees do not face any problem due to various construction works related to roads and electricity in the city. He said that if any devotee faces any problem due to potholes and electric wires on the road, then action will be taken against the contractor.
The SSP said that puja pandals should take care that there is no noise pollution, use loudspeakers as per rules, do not use loudspeakers after 10 pm. During the time of children going missing, make such arrangements that only the announcement of lost and found is made and no other voice is heard.
He said that information about inflammatory photos, videos and posts on social media should be given to the police. The SSP said that a mobile number will be issued for complaining about inflammatory posts on social media. Appealing to the residents of the district along with the Peace Committee, the Senior Superintendent of Police said that they should take screenshots of inflammatory posts on social media and make them available to the police so that immediate action can be taken.
In the meeting, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar Ranchi Deepak Dubey said that entry and exit points should be kept separate in the pandal and equipment should be arranged for fire safety. He said that as per the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, the district administration team will inspect the pandals and whatever shortcomings are pointed out by the investigation team, the committees will rectify them. He said that all the committees should set aside 4-5 hours for immersion on 24th and 25th October. The SDO expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the youth squad.
