After sporting a long beard recently which he grew during the four months Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was noticed in a new look with a trimmed beard.
Rahul reached in London on Tuesday for a week-long tour of the United Kingdom during which he is scheduled to deliver a lecture on "Learning to listen in the 21st century" at his alma mater Cambridge University. He is also slated to interact with students at the university's business management department.
Rahul's long beard became a topic of discussion among political leaders, social media who kept guessing whether he would continue to don the look or trim the beard.
Rahul was also a victim of ridicule for the changes he made to his body during this period.
Pictures of Rahul wearing a coat and suit with cropped hair and beard went viral on social media and his new images circulated on the hashtag New Look.
Interestingly, his long beard invited comments from his political adversaries like Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa who compared his looks to former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
Post the Bharat Jodo Yatra he came to Parliament and the just concluded Congress Plenary sporting beard. Earlier Rahul’s attire of T-shirt in the Yatra during the bone chilling winter when the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered north India also caught attention of the citizens until he wore a jacket once in the last leg of yatra in Kashmir.
Rahul came to Cambridge University to deliver a lecture on Learning to Listen in the 21st Century.
During his lecture he also addressed the issues of Bharat Jodo Yatra, two different ideas and the importance of global dialogue.
