The multinational peacekeeping joint exercise, 'Ex Khaan Quest 2023,' involving military contingents and observers from over 20 countries, including India, has commenced in Mongolia. The exercise, co-sponsored by the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF) and the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC), will last for nearly 14 days.
The opening ceremony of the exercise was inaugurated by the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. The Indian Army is represented by a contingent from the Garhwal Rifles. The primary objective of the drill is to enhance interoperability among the participating nations, facilitate the sharing of experiences, and train uniformed personnel for United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKO).
"Ex Khaan Quest 2023" aims to prepare the participants for future UN peacekeeping missions, strengthen peace operations capabilities, and enhance military readiness. The exercise encompasses various activities such as Command Post Exercise (CPX), Field Training Exercises (FTX), combat discussions, lectures, and demonstrations.
Furthermore, this military exercise will foster increased defense cooperation between the Indian Army and the participating countries.
