Bengaluru: Truecaller has been warning users about potential fraudulent phone calls for over a decade. Now, with the rise in SMS fraud, they have also initiated ‘Fraud Protection’: an active effort that combines user feedback with proprietary machine learning intelligence to effectively combat fraudulent messages and senders. This is especially helpful for people who may not know how to spot fraud and mistakenly believe they are dealing with legitimate businesses.
Milma all set to revamp its brand image
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), known by the brand Milma, is all set to revamp its brand image through the ‘Repositioning Milma 2023’ campaign, which would bring uniformity in packaging and products. The move is aimed at equipping Milma to meet challenges from domestic and global dairy brands and firm up its position as the market leader, an official said here on Monday.Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will launch the ‘Repositioning Milma 2023’ initiative at Edappazhanji near here on Tuesday.
AI revamps compensation structure for pilots
New Delhi: Air India has revamped the compensation structure for pilots and cabin crew, including increasing the per-hour flying rate for pilots, according to a source. Under the new structure, part of the Tata Group-owned airline’s five-year transformation plan, salaries will be hiked for more than 2,700 pilots across Air India and AIX Connect (including Air Asia India and Air India Express) as well as for more than 5,600 of Air India’s cabin crew, as per the source. The guaranteed flying allowance component will be doubled from 20 hours to 40 hours.
NSE warns investors against ‘dabba’ trading
New Delhi: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday cautioned investors against two persons offering illegal ‘dabba’ trading in the stock market. ‘Dabba’ trading is an illegal form of trading in shares, where operators of such trading rings allow people to trade in equities outside the stock exchange platform. The cautionary statements came after NSE found that Nitin Shantilal Nagda and Narendra V Sumaria were providing ‘dabba’ trading. These persons were registered with a trading member (TM) as an authorised person (AP) and the said association as an AP was subsequently cancelled by the TM.
VITEEE-2023 begins in VIT-AP University Campus
Vijayawada: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)-2023 began at VIT AP campus, Amaravati on Monday. VITEEE, the computer-based entrance exam, is conducted every year for admission to B. Tech programmes offered at VIT’s, Vellore campus, Chennai campus, Amaravati campus, and Bhopal campus. This year VITEEE entrance exam is scheduled from April 17- 23 for the academic year 2023-24. Applicants within 1 lakh ranks are eligible to participate in the online counselling for admission to B. Tech. programmes, tentatively scheduled from April 26 to June 14.
Padma Shri for industrialist late AP Khambatta
New Delhi: The late Areez Pirojshaw Khambatta, Founder and Chairman of Rasna Group, has been awarded the Padma Shri (Posthumous), 2023, for his work in Trade and Industry in the state of Gujarat. One of the highest civilian awards in the country, the award comes in recognition of Khambatta’s life-long work towards nation building. The award was accepted on his behalf by his wife Persis Areez Khambatta and his son Piruz Areez Khambatta. Khambatta is the first Ahmedabad-based Parsi to receive such an honour.
