SAIL, BSP honours two ex-eminent sportspersons.

In the first-ever initiative, the eminent sportspersons of SAIL and SPSB (Steel Plant’s Sports Board) have immensely contributed to the promotion of sports for a prolonged period and brought laurels for the Company from International as well as National platforms were honoured.

 

In a glittering ceremony at Bhilai, attended by the top management of SAIL, BSP the sportspersons were felicitated. At the prize distribution ceremony for Winner and Runner-up teams of Jindal Steel Works (JSW), Bellari (Karnataka) and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Vizag, respectively, the Volleyball International and Asian Silver Medalist cum SPSB Observer Jaideep Sarkar and ex-national player Kamlesh Hota of SAIL, Bokaro were honoured with long Service and Achiever's award by the Chief Guest K.K. Singh, Executive Director (P&A), SAIL, Bhilai.

 

This was the first event by SAIL & SPSB from which both players were honored from this apex platform. This salubrious example to mark and recognize the great sporting deeds performed by the SAIL men will encourage and motivate others to follow the steps as shown by SAIL Sports & SPSB authorities.

 

This was a unique and exemplary initiative by SAIL, BSP, the organizers of All India Inter Steel Plants' Volleyball Championship 2022 has catalysed the much-desired sporting drive of the company which needs to be followed by all the sports stakeholders of the country.

 

Sahee Ram Jakhar, a volleyball international player and DGM (Sports), SAIL, Bhilai played a pivotal role in this new initiative which was appreciated by all.

 

Earlier, the mega event was inaugurated on March 23 by the Director in Charge, SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant, Anirban Dasgupta. Speaking on the occasion the SPSB Observer & Volleyball International Jaideep clarified regarding the recent sporting drive and feasibility to empower Sports and Volleyball in Steel sector & SAIL, which have been then and there in-principally given green signal by the Director in charge.
