Punjab Government will soon develop a state-of-the-art residential and commercial urban estate in Ludhiana.
The state Housing and Urban Development Minister Aman Arora, chairing a high-level meeting to review the functioning of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) at PUDA Bhawan, SAS Nagar, was apprised that GLADA is in the process of acquiring around 2,000 acres site at Ladowal bye-pass in villages Bagga Kalan, Noorpur Bet, Garha and Gounspur for the development of Residential and Commercial Urban Estate.
Arora directed the officials concerned to initiate the process to acquire the land for the proposed estate, while asking them that the land should be acquired through land pooling on the pattern of GMADA. The Minister was apprised that the Site Selection Committee has recommended the site and a consultant has been engaged for facilitating the acquisition of this land.
Taking a serious note on pendency of cases, Arora categorically said that all the pendency must be cleared within a week and a mechanism should be in place to ensure service delivery in a stipulated time frame. He directed the officials to complete all the ongoing work in time ensuring no compromise on the quality of work being executed.
At the same time, he warned that an indifferent attitude towards work by any official won't be tolerated at any cost and strict action will be initiated.
