Keeping in view the extra rush of passengers, South Eastern Railway has decided to run a Special train between Shalimar-LTT-Shalimar leaving Shalimar on June 14 and leaving Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on June 18.
08102 Shalimar-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Special will leave Shalimar at 15:35 hrs on June 14 and will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 04.05 hrs on June 16. In the return direction, 08101 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Shalimar Special leaving Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 22.00 hrs on June 18 will arrive at Shalimar at 11.35 hrs on June 20.
The special train with two AC 2-Tier, one AC 3-Tier and eight Sleeper Class coaches will have stoppages at Santragachi, Uluberia, Mecheda, Panskura, Kharagpur, Jhargram, Ghatsila, Tatanagar, Sini, Chakradharpur, Manoharpur, Rourkela, Rajgangpur and Jharsuguda in SER jurisdiction.
“Like every year this time too, the trains are witnessing rush. It is that time of the year when people like to visit their native place for summer vacations. We had requested the South Eastern Railway to provide special trains to ease the rush,” said U K Srivastava, senior functionary of the Chotanagpur Passenger Association. He added that the railway administration should also plan at least two to three trains like they do during other festivals.
“There is a huge rush for bookings due to summer and the rush for bookings this year is more when compared to last year,” Rakesh Prasad. He said that the summer season is peak time for them and they look forward to celebrating.
