Odia director Bal making Hollywood film

 In an exciting revelation, a seasoned Odia director has announced to produce an English movie captioned “The Missing Couple” in tandem with noted Bhubaneswar-based producers. Mumbai-based Jaimin Bal announced here that he would work on the project in mid-November this year.
The Bhubaneswar-based producers are Nrusinghanath Nanda and Hara Prasad Sahu. The film, mainly to be shot in Los Angeles, will be full of suspense and action which is based on an investigation into the disappearance of an American couple from Thailand. The movie tells the story of a couple who went missing while attempting to make a documentary on a sex worker of Thailand. They got involved in an unpredictable situation that causes their disappearance and takes two journalists to Thailand to investigate the matter.

The film shall be shot in mid-November in Thailand where most of the action part will take place followed by an Los Angeles shots in December. For water action sequences, a leading expert has been hired. Finally, the film will be released in June 2023.

Producer Nrusinghanath Nanda has done several Indian regional and Hindi films and his production company has been producing movies for the last one decade. This is the maiden venture of Nanda’s company to produce a Hollywood film in association with Jaimin Bal.

Born in Trilochanpur village of Keonjhar district of Odisha on August 30, 1989, Jaimin Bal has already shot a Hollywood feature film named “Virginity for Sale”, which will be released soon on Netflix US. Bal has worked under the tutelage of legendary filmmakers like Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan and Raj Kanwar as an associate director for many super-hit Bollywood films. He made his debut in Bollywood with his action thriller Hindi film “Diwnup The Exit 796”.
