Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has issued notice to Bhopal Collector, Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of Police on August.
According to the Chairman of the Commission, Narendra Kumar Jain, a complaint has been received from Bhopal resident Kanija Bi, wife of late Banne Baig.
In the application, the complainants had stated that the authorities including anti-encroachment officer of Municipal Corporation had demolished the tea shop of his son in New Market forcibly by imposing a false case and also confiscated the goods of those selling on the footpath, arbitrarily one by one. A complaint has been made for issuing challans of Rs 1000 to each such trader.
The applicant complained about the non-compliance of the State Government's Street Vendor Livelihood Protection Act, 2017 by the corporation officer and demolishing the house by putting JCB and bulldozer. The complainants requested the Commission to take action against the concerned officer and get them compensation.
As soon as the complaint was received, the commission registered the case.
