Baghsewania police have arrested a thief who stole mobile phones and would also ask people to provide mobile phones to make emergency calls at AIIMS Bhopal and escape with the mobile phone; 10 mobile phones worth Rs 1.5 lakh were recovered from the possession of the accused.
After receiving several complaints of mobile theft and escaping with mobile phones a team was formed to investigate thefts in AIIMS Bhopal were revealed after working in different areas for a few hours.
Chandramohan Ahirwar of Sironj lodged a complaint on December 3 that his brother Rajkumar had an accident and was taken to AIIMS Bhopal for treatment and on November 11 he was taken for checkup and victim was standing in line during which mobile phone has two SIM with mobile numbers 7223885860, 6268220952 was stolen.
During the investigation, the incident site was inspected and on the basis of the suspicious behavior reported by the complainant and the CCTV camera footage around the incident site, a search was conducted for the accused in which the team was successful and the accused Rakesh Mehra alias Halke was arrested.
The accused accepted stealing and escaping with several mobile phones and 10 mobile phones were recovered from his possession. The offender was booked under Section 41 (1-4) of the CrPC Act.
Accused Rakesh Mehra alias Halke targets most of the hospitals, he goes inside AIIMS and targets patients at hospitals in distressed condition and takes mobile phone to talk to the patient after explaining his problem to the patient's family and on the pretext of talking he escapes with the mobile phones.
