The Godhan Nyay Yojana has achieved all the important goals in a short time, transforming rural Chhattisgarh by bringing prosperity to villages.
Under the scheme, in the last 45 months, 87.28 lakh quintals of cow dung have been purchased from livestock farmers and villagers and used to make organic manure and other items by women self-help groups.
The Yojana started in Chhattisgarh in July 2020 on the occasion of Hareli festival.
The number of registered cow dung dealers increased from 2,45,831 in 2020-21 to 3,12,647 in 2021-22.
So far, 1,38,384 quintals of cow dung have been provided to women self-help groups in Surguja district and 57,248 quintals of vermicompost have been produced.
Under the scheme, Rs. 356.14 crores have been paid to cow dung dealers, livestock farmers, Gauthan committees and women self-help groups, including a bonus of Rs. 18 crores.
Cow dung is purchased at Rs. 2 a kg under the Yojana.
Cow urine is bought at Rs. 4 a liter in 78 Gauthans. A total of 24,547 liters of pest controller Brahmastra and 16,722 liters of Jeevamrit have been prepared from 70,889 liters of cow urine purchased in Gauthans.
The sale of 34,085 liters of Brahmastra and Jeevamrit led to an earning of Rs. 14.75 lakh.
