Afive-year old boy was mowed down in front of MP State Legislative Assembly in the night on Friday, boy was trying to cross road along with his mother.
According to the police a high speed car first hit him, after which the driver drove the car over him. According to eyewitnesses, the child got trapped in the car and dragged on the road for about 30 feet.
The incident happened at 10 pm on Friday night. Satyabhan Patel, who lives in Bhim Nagar Basti in front of Mantralaya, works in a hotel. His 5-year-old son Prince Patel . Satyabhan told that the child was insisting on going to the park at night. At 9 in the night , wife Prabha had taken the children for a walk in the park opposite the dargah near Vallabh Bhavan. Prince was accompanied by his two elder sisters Priya and Priyanka. At 10 pm Prabha was returning with all the three children.
Prince was crossing the road holding his mother's finger when a speeding white car hit and dragged him, the mother with the help of a bike rider took the child to Jaiprakash Hospital, but he was declared dead by doctors.
After hitting Prince, the car driver ran towards the assembly. He hit a cattle standing on the road near Birla Mandir and fled with the car. Police could not locate the car. Police would check the CCTVs.
Police said that the registration number of vehicle was not traced . The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation.
