Wednesday, 13 April 2022 | Staff Reporter | bhopal

Congress’ Rajya Sabha member and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh has landed in trouble for a fake post that he shared on tweeter terming it as a picture taken during the communal violence in Khargone on Sunday.

On Tuesday morning,  Singh posted this picture showing saffron brigade erecting safron flag on a mosque, on Twitter and said, “Is it appropriate to put up a flag at a religious place while holding swords and sticks? Did the Khargone administration allow a procession carrying weapons? Will bulldozers run over the homes of all those who throw stones, irrespective of religion? Don’t forget Shivraj ji, you have taken an oath to run the government in a fair manner.”

After this, BJP leaders including CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan calling it a conspiracy to malign the state. Later, when Singh realised that it was a mistake, he removed the tweet, but it was already too late.

“Digvijay Singh has tweeted with a photo of a youth hoisting the saffron flag at a religious place which is not from Madhya Pradesh. This tweet of Digvijay Singh is a conspiracy to spread religious frenzy in the state and there is a conspiracy to throw the state in the fire of riots, which will not be tolerated”-said CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Earlier, Home Minister Narottam Mishra said during a discussion with the media that when stones were thrown at the Ram Navami procession, he did not raise any question by tweeting. Now that we are taking action against the rioters, Digvijay Singh ji is feeling pain. Digvijay Singh wants to fuel communal tension by spreading confusion.

Bhopal MLA Rameshwar Sharma tweeted that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan should take action on Digvijay Singh for doing the work of inciting religious sentiments, rioting and increasing enmity among communities so that the state can be thrown into riots.

Later, BJP MLAs and leaders reached the Arera Hill located Crime Branch police station and lodged a complaint on the tweet made by former CM Digvijay Singh. In the complaint BJP district president Sumit Pachauri has held the action of Digvijay Singh as misleading and with an intention to tarnish the image of the state and of the country.

Late in the evening, a case was registered under secions 153-A, 295-A, 465, 505(2) of the IPC in Crime Branch police station.
