The Environment Ministry has objected to the Atal Progress Way connecting the three states. After the objection of the Ministry, all the work related to this expressway has been stopped for the time being. The Environment Ministry says that no highway can be allowed to be built in the ravines of Chambal. The Ministry has raised objections to the Government of India on this basis.
Along with this, senior officers of the Eco-sensitive Zone of the Ministry of Environment have also been asked not to allow the use of the rugged land for the project. In such a situation, a new survey will be done for the expressway between Kota and Bhind. NHAI will do this work. For Atal Progress Way, it is proposed to take land in Morena, Bhind and Sheopur districts of Chambal division.
Atal Progress Way is to be built in MP from Etawa in Uttar Pradesh to Kota in Rajasthan near Bhind district. For this, the 404 km long road will pass through the ravines of Chambal. The project was announced in 2013. For this, efforts were recently made to displace several landowners from Bhind, Morena and Sheopur Kalan districts.
In the name of land acquisition, it is proposed to give compensation to about 10 thousand rural families and farmers of these districts. The proposed Atal Progressway is to be built on the banks of Chambal river in MP.
For this project, mainly the land of Chambal ravines was to be used. The process of taking land from 2300 farmers of Chambal area and giving them compensation in return was also going on. The Project Director of NHAI has also confirmed that the Environment Ministry has objected to the Atal Progress Way map. After the objection of the Ministry of Environment, now a fresh route survey will be done for the project.
