The flyover covers the stretch of Siramtoli Chowk, Rajendra Chowk, and MECON Ltd
The State Cabinet on Thursday approved the construction of a four-lane elevated flyover in Ranchi. The elevated flyover to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 337.50 crore aims to cover the stretch of Siramtoli Chowk, Rajendra Chowk, and MECON Ltd. The 2.34 km elevated flyover once constructed will ease out traffic congestion in the area as the stretch witnesses heavy traffic jams during peak hours.
Briefing media persons about the Cabinet decision, Cabinet Coordination department Secretary Vandana Dadel said that in today's Cabinet meeting 63 proposals were approved. Dadel said the Cabinet also sanctioned Rs 1.28 crore as commission to PDS dealers under Sona Sobran Sari Dhoti Vitran Yojana. Under this scheme, the BPL family gets a sari and dhoti twice a year. Dadel said that said amount has been earmarked as commission to dealers. There are 64 lakh BPL families enrolled under this scheme.
In another decision taken under the road construction department, the Cabinet gave its nod for improving road connectivity in the districts Godda, Gumla and others and sanctioned funds worth over Rs 100 Crores. The Cabinet also approved a budget of Rs 50.77 Crores for the construction of a new district collectorate building in Gumla.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to the welfare department to sign a tripartite MoU involving the state welfare department, forest, and climate change, and the Indian School of Business. The two government departments along with the business school will develop a mechanism to provide training to entrepreneurs of the weaker section of society in processing non-timber products as well as its value addition.
In another decision of the Cabinet, the dearness allowance of the contractual employees was raised from 113 per cent to 196 per cent. The Cabinet gave post facto sanction for the expenditure of Rs 61 Crores for the construction of farmers’ schools across Jharkhand. In the first phase, as many as 15 schools will be set up to impart education to farmers in the latest farming technologies. These farmers’ schools are proposed under the Birsa Village Development Scheme. The Cabinet set a target of 2023 to ensure that every house of Jharkhand gets an electricity connection.
