Panchayat and Rural Development Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Monday said Chhattisgarh had made quality roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and all the works were termed satisfactory by a survey agency.
Singh Deo said this in a statement after a review meeting held virtually under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Giriraj Singh.
Keeping in view the satisfactory work executed, the Chhattisgarh Minister demanded from the Union Minister approval for construction of an additional 2,000 km of roads under the PMGSY.
Singh Deo also demanded funds to maintain the road under a 60:40 ratio of Centre’s and state’s share.
Singh Deo said a total 8,547 roads of 42,000 km have been approved by the Centre in first, second and third phase.
He said 5,612 km of roads were allotted to Chhattisgarh. The construction would get over by March 2022, he said.
