The new airport built in Deoghar, is going to start soon. It is expected that Shiva devotees coming to Deoghar in Shravani Mela will be able to take advantage of the new air service. The trial landing of the airplane was done on Tuesday before the inauguration of Deoghar airport. Indigo's first flight took off from Kolkata and reached Deoghar airport. IndiGo's 180-seat 320A flight took off and landed thrice, said airport authorities.
Earlier, Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman, Airport Authority of India had inspected the Deoghar airport. He had said that the airport is fully ready for operation and the date of opening will be announced anytime.
The chairman said that efforts would be made to start flying from the airport before Sawan. All the preparations related to ATC (Air Traffic Control), runway and operations were looked after. All the preparations have been completed except for small things at the airport. The entire firefighting team has arrived here. The month of Sawan is starting from 14th July. It will run till August 12. It is expected that the airport will be inaugurated before that,added Kumar.
The Regional Executive Director of the Airport Authority of India, Manoj Gangal, had said that the trial flight will go soon. According to the announcement, the first trial took place on Tuesday. He said that SpiceJet, Indigo and other airlines would be requested to conduct trial flights. The first domestic airline will start. After this the night service will start. After these two there will be talk of international air service.
It should be known that as soon as the domestic airline starts, 180 passenger airlines will start arriving here. The length of the runway at this airport is 2500 meters. The airport has an area of 654 acres. There is a garden in front of the terminal. The shape of the dome of Baba Baidyanath temple has been engraved on the terminal. It is made of steel beats. The passengers coming here will have a vision of the form of Baba Mandir at the airport itself.
