In a move to boost morale of Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) contractors a two- day workshop on Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) was inaugurated at Central Coalfield Limited (CCL) headquarter in the State Capital on Friday.
Chairman Coal India Limited (CIL), Pramod Agrawal inaugurated the two-day workshop virtually. Director (Technical), CIL BVeera Reddy also addressed the gathering virtually.
The workshop is being co-hosted by CCL and CMPDI. CMD CCL PM Prasad and CMD, CMPDI, Manoj Kumar also graced the occasion. CCL Director (Tech and Op), RB Prasad, along with CCL Director (Finance), PK Mishra, CVO CCL, SK Sinha, Ex Director CMPDI, AK Rana, Anandji Prasad, Project advisor MoC and a large number of CCL employees were present on the occasion.
The two days’ workshop will witness about 100 delegates from different subsidiaries of CIL and other industries brainstorm and share their opinion on the various facets of the topic.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman CIL, Agrawal congratulated CCL for organising the workshop. He stated that the topic is extremely close to his heart and he looks forward to fruitful deliberation on the topic.
Reddy stated that the workshop provides a common forum to the delegates to come together and brainstorm on different facets of the topic.
Prasad welcomed the participants and expressed confidence that the workshop will be a great learning experience for everyone.
In the MDO mode, the contractor carries out the entire spectrum of activities right from obtaining the Environmental Clearance and Forest Clearance, R and R activities, obtaining applicable permits, licenses and others, developing projects (including detailed designing, financing, mine construction, procurement of mining and other equipment), operate and maintain Mine for excavation, extraction and delivery of coal in accordance with Annual Production Program and others.
Six MDO projects which will cumulatively produce 95 MT per annum coal have been awarded by CIL. CCL is at the forefront with three of them being in the company.
General Manager CMC, RR Srivastava along with others played a vital role in the success of the workshop.
