BJP’s victory stamp on Govt’s pro-poor policies, says Modi

Stating that the victories in four Assembly elections are proof of people’s emphatic stamp of approval to his Government’s “pro-poor” policies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the voter’s choice has also signaled that the days of  “dynasty politics”  are numbered.

Addressing party workers here at the BJP headquarters after BJP’s win in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, Modi said, “In these times of international uncertainties, people have gone for stable Governments and shown that the democracy runs in their blood...”.

Before Modi’s speech, BJP president JP Nadda credited the party’s “one-sided victory to the programme and policies of the Prime Minister”.

Modi said it is the first time that after 37 years a Government returned to power in UP and Uttarakhand and the BJP voted to power in Goa for the third successive time.

He also mentioned BJP’s win in the North-Eastern State of Manipur saying “people have blessed BJP from all four directions”.

The Prime Minister said his Government has improved “governance and delivery system to reach out the last man. I will not sit idle until the poor gets his due and Government welfare schemes and services reach him.”

“Election results are evidence that public has put its stamp on our pro-poor policies”, he said. Modi greeted women voters “for blessing us… wherever they voted in numbers they ensured our victory”.

He said people have given a new identity to UP by “continuously voting in 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2022 on policies of development and taught a lesson to other political parties who saw UP from the prism of caste”.

Modi said in Punjab too BJP will emerge as a strong force and asked party workers in the State to be “alert on the separatist forces”.

Without mentioning the Ukraine conflict, Modi said India is in favour of “talk peaceful resolution” as he said the country has strategic and economic needs and import of essential items linked with them.

Modi complimented the maturity of Indian voters for choosing “stable government in these uncertain times”. The Prime Minister said people have chosen development rather than the dynasties.

“ A day will come when dynasty politics will be stamped-out by the people ...In this election, voters showed this wisdom and indicated what is going to happen in future...”, he said.

Modi also asked people whether corruption should not be acted upon or strongly dealt with as some parties are opposing it. Modi said his party had won its mandate to rule in 2014 “to form an honest Government
