With an aim to make the villages of Uttar Pradesh self-sufficient and self-reliant, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered setting up of solar plants, biogas, fly-ash bricks and organic food processing units on farm lands. The farmers will now be able to set up industrial units on barren lands and apart from engaging themselves in industrial activities, they can also give their lands on lease which will help them earn more.
The Revenue department has fixed the provision of a private lease of land for a maximum period of 30 years for solar plants, biogas, fly-ash bricks, and organic food processing units. With this initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, electricity can be generated from the barren fields which will help farmers in generating more income, as they will be able to sell electricity along with foodgrains. This is not less than an opportunity for the farmers to become entrepreneurs in their villages.
The state government is also providing loans and subsidies to farmers through different schemes. By waiving loans to the tune of Rs 36,000 crore of 86 lakh farmers, the Yogi government is aimed at giving more strength to the farmers and economy of the villages.
For the betterment of villages, farmers, and industries, the state government has already amended the revenue code to complete the process of non-cultivation of agricultural lands in 45 days. Also, in order to eliminate land disputes, the Yogi government has introduced 16-digit unicodes to mark all kinds of agricultural, residential, and commercial lands.
