Chhattisgarh Police on Thursday arrested two persons for trying to sell a leopard skin valued at Rs 10 lakh in Kondagaon district.
Jailuram Markam (52) and Rameshwar Markam (37) were caught from Kumharpara in Kewati village and the skin was seized from them, Kondagaon Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari told The Pioneer. On learning that they were looking for customers to sell the skin of a wild animal, the police swung into action, the officer said.
The skin was packed in a plastic bag. Its length including the tail is 143 cm and the width is 41 cm, Tiwari added.
