The Delhi Police has arrested a 19-year-old boy who allegedly harassed more than 50 women including minors by stalking them on social media and morphing their pictures. Police said that he was arrested from Faridabad area. The accused has been identified as Rahim Khan and he studied upto class 8th. Police said that he is professionally engaged in operating various morphing apps.
“The accused Khan harassed more than 50 women including minors over various social media platforms after stalking their profiles and initiated sexting with them using a fake identity of a woman. He even targeted minor girls by morphing their pictures,” said police.
According to Ingit Pratap Singh, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Southwest district, an action was taken against Khan after a complaint was received on Tuesday at RP Puram police station by one of the victim who alleged that an unknown person with an Instagram handle “ch_rahim_khan786” was sending her morphed pictures and further demanding nude pictures.
“A case was registered under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Based on technical inquiry and details sought from Instagram, the Cyber Cell team of southwest district succeeded in establishing the whereabouts of the accused Rahim Khan,” said the DCP.
“With the help of technical surveillance, Khan was nabbed from his house in Faridabad, Haryana. During interrogation, Khan confessed his involvement in the crime and further revealed that for pleasure and personal satisfaction, he had victimized more than 50 women across India including many minors,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
“The police have recovered incriminating evidence including photos, chat and videos shared by victims from Khan's the mobile phone.
Further investigation of the case is in progress,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) adding that efforts are being made to connect other victims.
