Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for fast-tracking much-talked-about Talcher-Bimalagarh rail line.
Pradhan said that 840-meter tunnel work of the railway line at Brauan hills is almost complete. The 147.78-km line, on its completion, would strengthen the rail network in mining areas.
The project with an estimated cost of Rs 1,928 crore is targeted for early completion. It would minimise distance between Talcher and Rourkela and would also contribute significantly to State’s economy, he said.
It is learnt that by 2021-22, parts of project’s 16.31-km Sunakhani-Samal and Samal-Parbil sections would be completed, Pradhan said, adding that Prime Minister has always prioritised rail development in State.
